Cougar Energy is developing projects both for itself, and through its subsidiary company Cougar Energy (UK) Ltd. The current projects are located near Kingaroy in Queensland, in the Latrobe Valley in Victoria, and in Sindh Province Pakistan. In summary, the goals for these projects are:
Kingaroy
The staged development of a 400MW project, with later expansion depending on the final size of the coal resource.
Latrobe Valley, Victoria
Establishment of a large resource at depth in the Traralgon seam of the existing brown coal deposits, verification of the applicability of the UCG process to the coal and, if successful, establishment of a large integrated power generation/liquids plant.
Sindh Province, Pakistan
Verification of the results obtained from previous drilling programs and applicability of the UCGprocess, then the staged construction of a minimum 400MW power plant.
